Applications under the old New Zealand Parent Visa Category closed on 11 October 2022 and the last EOI selection draw under the old parent category visa policy was held on 14 November 2022. All existing EOIs in the pool as on 12 October 2022 meeting the old policy requirements were eligible for selection.
Revised New Zealand Parent Visa Category
Effective from 12 October the NZ Parent Visa Category has been revised as under:
- increased annual quota of 2,500 visas;
- reduced sponsor income requirements from twice to 1.5 times median wage;
- additional option of two adult children to be sponsors;
- EOIs will be drawn from the pool by ballot;
- EOIs will remain in the pool earlier of selection or 2 years from submission.
Next EOI Selection Rounds
The first EOI selection round under the new policy will be held in August 2023 and every three months thereafter. 500 EOIs will be selected in each round.
