AUSTRALIA SC 190 SKILLED NOMINATED RESIDENT VISA

Skilled workers nominated by an Australia state or territory government agency may qualify to apply for SC 190 Skilled Nominated Visa. This also is a permanent resident visa and you can live, work and settle in Australia with PR. SC 190 visa is also points based 2 step, invitatation only visa, but requires nomination. SC 190 Skilled Nominated Visa Requirements

To qualify for SC 190 visa, applicants need to meet the following requirements:

• be aged between 18 and 44 years;
• must nominate an occupation on relevant skilled occupation list;
• have positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation;
• score at least 65 marks on points table;
• meet health, character and English language requirements;
• submit Expression of Interest (EOI) for SC 190 visa;
• meet the relevant state nomination requirements and submit nomination application;
• if you are nominated, you will receive nomination approval and your EOI will be selected from the pool;
• upon selection of EOI, you will receive Invitation To Apply (ITA) for SC 190 Visa;
• apply for Skilled Nominated Resident Visa within 60 days from receiving the ITA;

How To Be Nominated

Australia has 8 states and territories and each state has it's own occupation list and prescribed criteria for nomination. You need to:

• have the occupation on the relevant state occcupation list;
• meet the requirements prescribed by the state for nomination;
• commit to live in the nominating state or territory for at least 2 years;
• states can view your EOI submitted in SkillSelect;
• if nominated:
• you will receive email approving your nomination;
• your EOI will be immediately selected from the pool and you will receive ITA to apply for SC 190 visa;

The benefit of state nomination visa is that the points for submission and selection of EOI is the same unlike the SC 189 visat each EOI draw and may be considerably higher. Also, your EOI is selected from the pool and you receive ITA almost simultaneously upon your nomination being approved by the state/territory.

Expression of Interest (EOI)

All EOIs received are pooled and:

• EOIs remain in the pool earlier of selection or 2 years from submission;
• as mentioned above, EOI is selected from the pool and ITA is issued immediately upon receiving state nomination.
• EOI will be withdrawn at the end of 2 years, if not selected
• you can submit a new EOI, if your EOI is withdrawn

SC 190 Visa Estimated Processing Time

There is no time-frame for state nomination and selection of EOI. However after submission of completed SC 190 application, 90% applications are processed within 19 months. Actual processing times may be different as it depends upon several factors including:

• the workload at the processing office
• processing priorities set by the government
• submission of incomplete application
• time taken by the applicant to submit additional documents requested, if any
• time taken by third party for verification of documents, required if any
• health and/or character issues, if any

Generally fully completed applications submitted with all documents including medicals and police certificate(s) are processed quickly.

Visa Application Charges (VAC) and Other Costs

There is no fee to submit the Expression of Interest and State Nomination application. The Visa Application Charge for skilled nominated resident visa application, is as under:

• Main Applicant - A$ 4,770
• Each additional Applicant aged 18 years and above - A$2,385
• Each additional applicant aged under 18 years - A$1,190

VAC is payable at the time of submission of the SC 190 visa application.Besides VAC, applicants need to factor in the following additional costs, as applicable:

• Skils Assessment - Each skills assessing authority has differentNominated fees
• Qualifications Assessment,if required
• Costs of passport Photo, Medical Examination, Police Certificate and for certifying documents
