Investor Visa Requirements

To qualify for this visa, the Principal Applicant (Investor) must:

• meet health and character requirements (all family members included in the application have to meet this requirements);
• meet English language requirements;
• meet fit and proper person requirements (met immigration, employment and taxation laws, never convicted for business offence or fraud or financial impropriety);
• nominate funds or assets equivalent in value to at least NZD 15 million or weighted equivalent (NZD 5 - 15 million);
• own and have legally earned or acquired the nominated funds;
• transfer the funds within 6 months from date of in-principle approval;
• maintain the investments for 4 years from the date first investment is made or date of in-priciple approval, whichever is later ;
• spend at least 117 days in New Zealand over the 4 year period from the grant of resident visa.

Grant of Conditional Resident Visa

Resident visa will be granted, subject to conditions, once the principle applicant has:

• transferred the nominated funds;
• made the required acceptable investments;
• placed the remainder of the funds into holding investments and/or acceptable investments.

Conditions will be removed at the end of 48 months, upon meeting all the requisite conditions.

Application Charge

Current application charge including immigration levy is NZD 27,470 (application charge NZD 12,070 and immigration levy NZD 15,400). For applicants from Pacific countries the application charge is NZD 21,590 (application charge NZD 6,190 and immigration levy NZD 15,400)
