491 Visa Eligibility and Requirements for Skilled Work Regional Visa

"To qualify for the 491 visa — known as the SC 491 Skilled Work Regional Visa — skilled workers must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• be nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency or sponsored by an eligible relative;
• be aged between 18 and 44 years;
• nominate an occupation on relevant skilled occupation list;
• have positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation;
• score 65 or more points on points table;
• meet health, character and English language requirements;
• submit Expression of Interest (EOI) under SkillSelect;
• be invited to apply for this visa.

SC 491 Visa Application Charges

Visa Application Charge for Skilled Work Regional Visa is as under:

• Main Applicant - A$ 4,770;
• Each additional applicant aged 18 years and above - A$2,385;
• Each additional applicant aged under 18 years - A$1,190.

VAC is payable at the time of submission of the visa. Besides VAC, applicants need to factor in the following additional costs, as applicable:

• Skils Assessment fees - Each skills assessing authority has differen fees;
• Qualifications Assessment charges, if required;
• Costs of passport Photo, Medical Examination and Police Certificate;
• Flight Tickets;
• Migration Agent Fees if you wish to use an immigration advisor.
