REQUIREMENTS OF PARENT RETIREMENT RESIDENT VISA

To qualify, parents must meet the following requirements:

• not have any dependent child
• be sponsored by an adult child who is a New Zealand citizen or resident;
• invest at least NZ $1 million in acceptable investments for four years;
• have settlement funds of at least NZ $500,000;
• have an annual income of NZ $60,000 or more;
• parent and partner must meet health and character requirements.

WHEN ARE FUNDS TO BE TRANSFERRED

Parents will have twelve months from grant of approval in principle (AIP) to transfer funds and invest in New Zealand.

Resident visa will be granted after meeting the investment criteria throughout the four year period.

Estimated processing time is 21 months. Actual time depends upon a number of factors including work load at the processing office, additional documents need if any, health or character issues and more.
