Straight To Residence Visa

Straight To Residence Visa provides direct residence to skilled workers with a job offer from an accredited employer and the requisite skills in an occupation listed in Tier 1 of the Green List.

Requirements For Straight To Residence Visa

Migrants need to meet the following requirements to qualify for straight to residence visa:

• need to be aged 55 years or under;
• must have a job offer from or currently employed with an accredited employer, in an occupation on Tier 1 of the Green List
• job offer or employment must be for full-time and permanent job or for at least 12 months fixed term contract;
• job offer or employment must be paid at or above the specified salary ($136,739 annual as on 17 Dec. 2024);
• independent contractors with 10 years experience, paid at $98.62 per hour and have minimum 6 months contract may also qualify;
• meet health, character and English language requirements.

Work To Residence Visa

Work To Residence visa provides a pathway to secure residence visa after working in New Zealand in an occupation listed in Tier 2 of the Green List for at least 24 months. To qualify, migrants need to meet the following requirements:

• be aged 55 years or under at the time of resident visa application;
• have a job offer or be employed with an accredited employer in an occupation on Tier 2 of the Green List;
• have worked in New Zealand on or after 29 September 2021, in an occupation on Tier 2 of the Green List for at least 24 months during 30 month period immediately preceeding work to resident visa application;
• job offer or employment must be full-time and permanent or for at least 12 months fixed term contract;
• meet health, character and English language requirements.

Current application fees (as of Dec. 2024) for both - Straight To Residence visa and Work to Residence Visa is $6,450

Estimated Processing Time

Current estimated processing time (as of Dec. 2024) for Straight To Residence Visa is 3 months from submission of complete application and for Work To Residence Visa is 4 months.
