INZ has announced significant changes to the Active Investor Plus Visa. The changes will be effective from 1st April 2025 and include:
- simplified investment categories — Growth category and Balanced catagory;
- no Englisg language requirements;
- for Growth category:
- invest minimum NZD 5 million;
- either make 'direct investments" or invest in "managed funds" approved by NZTE;
- invest funds within 6 months from AIP (can apply for 1 extension of 6 months
- retain investments for 3 years;
- spend at least 21 days in New Zealand over the 3 year investment period.
- for Balanced category
- invest minimum NZD 10 million;
- can invest in Bonds, Listed Equities, Philantrophy, Property Development and Growth category investments approved by INZ;
- retain investments for 5 years;
- spend at least 105 days in New Zealand over the 5 year investment period or following reduced periods;
- 91 days in 5 years - if you invest NZD 11 million; or
- 77 days in 5 years - if you invest NZD 12 million; or
- 63 days in 5 years - if you invest NZD 13 million.
INZ will publish more information in early March 2025.
